Madeline's 6th Year Video

I can't believe Maddie is 6 years old (as of a couple of days ago)!!!!  While we aren't doing parties this year, we've promised next year we will have parties, once we meet some more people here in Mount Vernon. But, Maddie wanted to make sure that I got her birthday video done, as soon as her birthday was over!  So, here it is :-)

Hazel's 4th Birthday Video

We've been settling in to the new area, enjoying Friday school coop, and are about 12 weeks unil the end of our "school year".  The past month we have had wonderful visits from John's parents and my parents and grandma.  It is great seeing family!!!  With these visits, we have also been doing lots of sight-seeing around the area ourselves, including whale watching earlier this week!

But, tonight we celebrating Hazel's 4th birthday, I can't believe she is getting so big!  With that, I have completed her 4th birthday video :-)

Ada's 7th Birthday Video

So, obviously it seems I am only using this blog to post the kids' birthday videos for all to see.  That's okay, I have no problem with that.  Um...since July John has gotten a new job, we sold our house in Iowa, bought a house in Mount Vernon, WA, moved half-way across the country with the kids and all the pets in our van (that as less than fun) and have been trying to settle in here.  So, yeah, a lot has happeed.  We're looking forward to getting visits from the grandparents in the next few months, starting the Friday school for the homeschool coop we joined, and hopefully making more friends.  I'm also trying to start a girl scout troop here but that is going less than well.  I might post more in the future, or I might just not post until Hazel's birthday video is done, we'll see :-)

Madeline's 5th Birthday Video

Everything is so up in the air lately and we are busy with swim lessons and getting ready for our "school year" which I have starting August 20!  We had a great trip to Maine in June.  It was very busy but well worth it and I got to check off 7 states I had never been to before (the girls checked off about the same amount).  Some of the pictures you can see in the video below.  I think the best stops were Boston (though the hotel was annoying with such small rooms and no bathtub) and Niagara Falls!

Here is Maddie's 5th Birthday video.  I can't believe my middle baby is 5!  We are starting K with her this year, at least mostly, wich I might need good luck with :-)

Once things settle down and it is more clear what the immediate future holds I might post again.  Otherwise I will definitally post Ada's next video in Jan :-)

Hazel's Birthday Video

I am horrible about posting, oh my goodness!  Oh well, in my defense, not many people look at this and I'm busy ;-)  Okay, my latest thing to check off my to-do list before we go on vacation in a few weeks was to finish Hazel's birthday video.  So, here it is!  I think it turned out well though she was yelling at me for using "sad music".  Oh well, maybe one day she'll apprecite it.

Ada's Birthday Video

It is that time again.  The start of a new year and Ada's birthday, all falling close together.  I can't believe my oldest baby is already 6 years old!  Next year I'll have to register her with our school district as a homeschooled child.  Ada has a great birthday and declared it "the best birthday ever," of course that also was sometimes quickly followed by her not getting her way and stating it was also the "worst birthday ever," but we will take what we can get.  Part of each girls' birthday week is me trying to get their birthday video made.  I love making these videos and it really shows how each girl has grown in the past year of their life.  Most of the time the girls don't like their videos, saying they are "too sad" and sometimes Ada or Maddie will start to cry while watching them, but I think eventually they will appreciate them.  If not, then they are for me and I am fine with that :-)

Well, lets see if I can do better in the new year with posting, but probably not :-)  The holidays have been busy, of course, with ups and downs and all arounds.  The kids keep on working and learning.  Ada is doing great with her reading and math and I can't believe she will be 6 tomorrow!  One thing I am sure of, is that she learns well with songs, so here are some youtube videos that we currently are looking at today....
